When you attempt to email your entire contact list within Hive, there are a couple of cases that will cause us to not send to a particular contact. This FAQ explains those cases.

  1. Contacts that have unsubscribed from your list: In any email that you send to your list, we include an unsubscribe link in the footer. If a particular contact clicks unsubscribe in one of your campaigns, they are unsubscribed from your list going forward, restricting you from emailing them unless they resubscribe at a later date.
  2. Contacts that have marked your emails as spam: If you email a certain contact and they mark your email as spam, we unsubscribe them from your list going forward. This is to protect the deliverability of your future email blasts (it hurts the deliverability score each time someone marks a message as spam, and people that have done so in the past are much more likely than other contacts to do so again in the future!).
  3. Contacts with invalid addresses: When you import or collect an email address through one of Hive's Capture applications, we use 3rd party data vendors to validate whether the address is active and valid or not. If we find that an address is old, inaccurate, or invalid for another reason we mark this as a bad email within our system. You cannot send to these addresses.
