To set up your custom domain, click the Settings icon in the bottom left corner of your dashboard > Edit Email Settings.

Once you've chosen a custom domain:

  1. Type it in beside Custom "From" Address on the Email Settings page
  2. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page
  3. The page will refresh and your custom domain settings will populate in Hive
  4. You'll see a note that your settings haven't been configured correctly (not to worry, this FAQ explains how to configure them)

Here's an example of what the values will look like in Hive:

Add the records from your Email Settings page in Hive to your DNS provider's settings to verify your domain.

Note: Some DNS providers will add your domain to the hostname records automatically (e.g. GoDaddy) - for these, you can just copy and paste the hostname from Hive without the domain (e.g. from the above example, your hostnames would be scph1018._domainkey.mail, mail and click.mail)

Once you’ve added the values from Hive to your DNS provider and they’ve propagated, your domain will be verified!


  • It can take 24 to 48 hours for DNS changes to propagate
  • Until your domain is verified, emails will be sent from
  • If your domain still isn't verified after 48 hours, please email
